Etsy Plus shows up in Shop Manager as a $10 USD per month upgrade. The pitch is simple: monthly listing credits, a small Etsy Ads credit, restock alerts, more shop-design options, and unlimited Marketplace Insights keyword searches. The question sellers actually ask is narrower: does the credit math cover the $10, and are the tools worth whatever is left?
Facts below are from Etsy's Help Center on Plus (checked October 13, 2026), plus standard US selling fees for context. No invented conversion lifts or ranking claims. Plus is tools + credits—not a fee cut and not an organic ranking boost.
| Piece | What you get | Cash math |
|---|---|---|
| Subscription fee | Deducted from your payment account balance | $10 / month |
| Listing credits | 15 credits for creating or renewing listings | 15 × $0.20 = $3.00 if you use all of them |
| Etsy Ads credit | $5 USD Ads credit (visible on the Etsy Ads page) | $5.00 if you actually spend it on Ads |
| Nominal credit value if fully used | Listing + Ads | ≈ $8 vs $10 fee → about $2 net for the tools |
| Credits that expire unused | Do not roll over; reset each monthly cycle | Unused credits are money you paid for and lost |
If you renew or create at least 15 listings a month and you already run Etsy Ads hard enough to burn the $5 credit, Plus is roughly a $2 monthly fee for restock requests, advanced customization, and unlimited Marketplace Insights searches. If you leave the Ads credit unused or renew fewer than 15 listings, the gap widens fast.

Credits are allocated at the start of each monthly subscription cycle. They do not roll over. Unused listing credits and unused Ads credit expire at the end of that cycle.
Formula each month: $10 − (listing credits used × $0.20) − (Ads credit spent, up to $5). That remainder is what you pay for the tools.
| Line | Amount |
|---|---|
| Plus fee | −$10.00 |
| 15 listing credits used | +$3.00 |
| $5 Ads credit spent | +$5.00 |
| Net cost of tools | ≈ −$2.00 |
Best case: about $2 for restock, customization, and unlimited Marketplace Insights.
| Line | Amount |
|---|---|
| Plus fee | −$10.00 |
| 15 listing credits used | +$3.00 |
| Ads credit unused | +$0.00 |
| Net cost | ≈ −$7.00 |
You pay about $7 for tools alone—only worth it if restock or Insights clearly change how you work.
| Line | Amount |
|---|---|
| Plus fee | −$10.00 |
| 6 listing credits used | +$1.20 |
| $5 Ads credit spent | +$5.00 |
| Net cost | ≈ −$3.80 |
| Line | Amount |
|---|---|
| Plus fee | −$10.00 |
| 2 listing credits used | +$0.40 |
| Ads credit unused | +$0.00 |
| Net cost | ≈ −$9.60 |
Almost the full $10 for tools you barely open—skip or cancel.
| Profile | Credits used | Ads used | Approx. net | Usually… |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Active + runs Etsy Ads | 15 | $5 | ~$2 for tools | Keep / try |
| Many renewals, no Ads | 15 | $0 | ~$7 for tools | Maybe, if tools matter |
| Few listings, runs Ads | ~5–8 | $5 | ~$3–5 for tools | Maybe |
| Small / quiet shop | 0–3 | $0 | ~$9–10 for tools | Skip |
Plus does not cut percentage or processing fees. For a US shop these still apply on Standard or Plus:
| Fee | Typical US rule (confirm in Shop Manager) |
|---|---|
| Listing / renewal | $0.20 per create or renew (Plus credits can cover some) |
| Transaction | 6.5% on item + shipping + gift wrap |
| Payment processing | 3% + $0.25 on total sale price (incl. shipping and sales tax if charged) |
| Offsite Ads | 15% if the shop never made $10,000 in any consecutive 365-day period (opt-out allowed); 12% and mandatory for life once it has; $100 cap per order; 30-day attribution |
Credits only offset some listings and a small Ads spend—not transaction, processing, or Offsite lines.
Usually worth trying if you already create/renew ~15+ listings a month, you run (or will run) Etsy Ads enough to spend the $5 credit, and you will actually open restock, customization, or Marketplace Insights. Treat two cycles of unused credits as a cancel signal.
Usually skip or cancel if your catalog is tiny, you never use Etsy Ads, you only wanted cheaper selling fees or an organic rank boost (Plus does not claim those), or you finished a one-time shop redesign and no longer need the tools.
Sign up: Shop Manager → Settings → Your subscription → Upgrade under Etsy Plus → Confirm.
Cancel anytime in the same Your subscription area. You keep Plus until the end of that subscription cycle; the dashboard shows the final day of access. Then the shop returns to Etsy Standard and the fee stops. If credits were going unused, canceling is often the correct math.
Canopio's free calculator models US listing, transaction, processing, and Offsite Ads at 15% or 12% in the browser with no sign-up. Free listing scores are on the site; optional rewrite packs are $2.99 for 10 or $9.99 for 40. A one-time $9.90 Shop Audit reviews live listings against your costs—no subscription. $10 USD per month, deducted from your payment account balance (per Etsy Help, "What is Etsy Plus?", checked October 13, 2026). Confirm the current amount in Shop Manager → Settings → Your subscription.
Each monthly cycle: 15 credits for creating or renewing listings, and $5 USD in Etsy Ads credit visible on the Etsy Ads page. Credits do not roll over and expire if unused.
If you use all 15 listing credits ($3) and the full $5 Ads credit, nominal credit value is about $8 against the $10 fee—roughly $2 net for the tools. If either credit goes unused, the net cost rises.
No. Plus does not cut the US 6.5% transaction fee, 3% + $0.25 processing, or Offsite Ads (15% with opt-out if the shop never made $10,000 in any consecutive 365-day period; 12% and mandatory for life once it has; $100 cap; 30-day attribution). Credits only offset some listing creates/renews and a small Ads spend.
Etsy's Plus Help page describes tools and credits, not an organic rank boost. Do not subscribe expecting Plus alone to move you up in search results.
Shop Manager → Settings → Your subscription → cancel. You keep access until the end of that cycle; the dashboard shows the final day. Then the shop returns to Etsy Standard.
Credits do not roll over within a cycle anyway. After the cycle ends and you are on Standard, you no longer receive the monthly Plus credits. Use what you can before the final day if you are mid-cycle.
